Renovation and Remediation of 1615 E. Judge Perez - Murphy Oil
It is not too often that we come across a construction company that is willing to shed tried and true practices to develop a project specific delivery method that works to specifically address the unique demands of a client. Gibbs commitment to customer service, innovation, and quality made them an integral part of the success of this project.
Kenneth Gowland RA | NCARB, MetroStudio
Relative to severe weather, the Murphy Oil administrative office complex is located in one of the hardest-hit areas of coastal Louisiana. In response to the client’s need for a mission critical facility capable of maintaining operational ability during and after a Category 5 storm event, Gibbs Construction worked with MetroStudio to construct a building capable of providing power, data, telecommunication, and physical support to the company’s key operational personnel during a disaster.
The building’s entire core systems employ energy and resource efficient air handling and water systems. The open plan configuration employs an energy efficient lighting scheme that utilizes photo and occupancy sensors to intelligently integrate daylighting with electric lighting.
The core systems are fully integrated into a DCS (digital control system) energy management system that allows for real-time monitoring and control of energy usage throughout the entire facility.
