Conoco Phillips Security Screening Building

Belle Chasse, LA

DESCRIPTION:Gibbs Construction served as general contractor for the new construction of the Conoco Security Screening Building at the Alliance Refinery. This project began prior to Hurricane Katrina and completed after the storm. Pre-storm, piles were driven, grade beams were excavated, utilities stubbed out. The building was then modified after the storm with additional fill material and grading, piles and removal of old stub outs. and re-excavation of the grade beams. The approximately 3,000-square-foot building consists of slab on grade, a structural steel frame, concrete block and brick vaneer exterior with aluminum storefront entry system, metal roof, stained concrete flooring and a storefront system. Additionally, crews placed an approximately 10,0000-square-foot concrete parking lot complete with stripping, signage, parking bumpers and security jersey barriers.
