DESCRIPTION:
The project consists of the design and construction of three new officer and enlisted personnel barracks facilities and the design and renovation of four existing historic buildings into living facilities for officers. The overall size of the project is 50,170 sq. ft., including the construction of three new buildings and 40,344 sq. ft. total and four historic existing buildings for a combined total of 90,514 sq. ft.
The new buildings are post tension concrete first floor and second floors, with aerated concrete load-bearing walls on the first floors and metal stud walls on the second floors. The masonry veneer structures include walkways and balconies with slate hip roof to reflect the historic character at Jackson Barracks. The restoration of the four existing historic buildings was designed executed to meet code requirement while still maintaining the historic character of the buildings. The design included ATFP and LEED design.
