DESCRIPTION:
The T-45 Aircraft Hangar Facility is a three-bay building totaling 11,665 square feet. The facility will provide two wash bays capable of washing one T2 aircraft and one T45 aircraft simultaneously. An administrative area is incorporated into the NDI Bay with a rear lean-to type structure. This area accommodates the NDI office and lab area, a darkroom, a corridor between the wash rack and the NDI bay and a unisex toilet facility. This area also contains a shielded manufactured X-Ray vault and a shielded manufactured operator’s booth which conform with RASO specifications.
The building’s exterior enclosure consists of split face block and brick approximately 16 feet above grade, and over eight-inch thick structural load-bearing reinforced CMU walls with cast-in-place concrete pilasters. Above the brick is pre-insulated, 24-inch wide, pre-finished steel panels with interlocking seams. These panels are insulated with R-20 insulation. The roof is structural standing seam metal roof over structural metal deck with R-20 insulation.
