Why I work at Gibbs

I’ve been at Gibbs over 20 years – now, it’s part of the family. I love the teamwork, and the camaraderie. Gibbs leadership has an open-door policy, where you can always give feedback – positive or negative – and just be open, and never feel worried about the response you’ll get. And that open-door policy is about everyday life, too – not just work stuff. It makes you feel that you matter – not just as a construction worker, but also as an individual. I lost my house in Hurricane Katrina, and Larry Gibbs took a boat there with me in the aftermath to check on it. The water was so high we had to get inside through the second-floor attic. It meant a lot to me that he was there. It showed me that he cared.
