Gibbs Construction was founded by Larry Gibbs with a $3000 bonus check he received from his last employer. Because of the generosity of many people in Gibbs' early years, Gibbs Construction eventually became one of the region’s largest and most successful general contractors. If it were not for the help Gibbs received from others, we would not be who we are today. In recognition and gratitude, Gibbs continues to nurture a culture of giving and service to the community.
This philosophy and example of giving have permeated the company, and that legacy continues in the next generation. Gibbs Construction’s employees are integral to our community service and charitable giving, spearheading several multi-year initiatives that serve as team-building and gratitude-cultivating exercises each year. These annual employee-led activities to which they contribute their time, creativity, and money include LCMC Children’s Hospital July Toy Drive, St. Michael’s Special School Mardi Gras Bead Drive, Ochsner Health & Blood Center Blood Drive, Second Harvest Food Bank Thanksgiving Food Drive.
